Job Summary:
As the Production Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work in all the production areas and supervise all aspects of the production operation within your scope of responsibility. This position is hands-on where the expectation is that you will spend the majority of your time with your team facilitating and driving safety, quality, and on-time-delivery initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
  • We drive a culture where safety awareness and compliance with OSHA guidelines is not only the top priority for QuantumClean but also everyone’s responsibility.  You will contribute to our safety initiative by maintaining a safe, efficient, and clean work environment for your team.  Adherence to applicable OSHA standards, annual OSHA record keeping, and accident reporting are required.  You will participate in team member training and documentation regarding OSHA and QuantumClean safety protocols.  We need to operate in full compliance with regulatory permits, DOT & RCRA Hazardous Waste requirements.
  • Ensure training schedule is coordinated with key stakeholders specified by QuantumClean. 
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) such as: Safety, Quality, On-Time-Delivery, Parts Per Man Hour 
  • Lead pass-down meetings with your team at the beginning of each shift to review pending parts and areas of focus that have due dates in the next three days.  Organize a production schedule / plan to process all the Work In Progress (WIP) for 3 day turn cycles.
  • Troubleshoot partial orders in receiving that need one or two parts, expedites, special customer instruction/requirement on orders, etc.
  • Walk the floor to inform your team members in each area of what parts to prioritize.
  • Identify areas that require additional technicians and assign them to assist in the parts flow process.
  • Establish daily schedule and production requirements.  
  • Responsible for Operations Plant Flow and Process Efficiency Performance.
  • Implementation and maintenance of Lean Flow principles.  Efficiency, as measured in “parts per man-hour” and “inventory (WIP)” turns is essential to providing both fast part turn around and low cost of service. Training of technicians and documentation of technician training in cross functional areas at each location is essential to simultaneously providing Lean Flow and low-cost operations. 
  • Partner with management and HR to ensure all production areas are staffed properly.  Involved in all associated hiring of production technician personnel. 
  • Manage the NCE process.  Ensure NCE’s are being properly completed and distributed. 
  • Supervise the production inventory process.  Assign an individual to perform inventory counts on critical supplies. Review inventory reports and orders, to ensure they are complete and accurate. Collaborate with your team to setup min. / max. inventory levels to ensure proper supply inventory. 
  • Assist in management of the CAPA system – this requires generating CAPA’s when needed or delegating the initial CAPA generation process to the individual responsible for creating the issue. Once the CAPA is created, assist in reviewing, editing and updating in the system. Drive CAPA review and resolution be distributing the CAPA to the correct contacts.
  • Work with the commercial group to find customer solutions in a timely manner. 
  • Partner with Site Management and HR regarding all HR related issues.  Ensure that all QuantumClean HR policies and procedures are understood by employees, and that these policies are followed.  Manage the review process and formal feedback for your team to improve, correct, and reward employee performance and behavior.  Understand, communicate, and fulfill discipline policy including incident documentation, verbal and written warnings, and dismissal.  Ensure that all employees are aware of QuantumClean HR policies as compiled in the Employee HR Policies & Guidelines Handbook. 
  • Review and coordinate all training records for annual training requirements regarding your team.   
  • Operations Quality and ISO-9001 Performance Objectives:  Essential to QuantumClean’s success is continuous Quality Improvement. QuantumClean is an ISO-9001 company. Compliance with all QuantumClean ISO procedures at every level within the Production Supervisors organization is mandatory. This includes adherence to the CAPA and NCE programs, the Product Qualification and Quoting Process, Order Acceptance Procedures, Part Cleaning and Bagging Procedures, Internal Audit requirements, as well as all other ISO procedures and protocols.  Note that through compliance with these procedures, order and billing miss-matches do not occur, customers are notified immediately of receiving and process issues, and quality incidents of every kind are investigated, and preventative actions are put into place to prevent their re-occurrence. 
  • Operations Cost Controls and Budget Control Performance Objectives:  Ensure that all spending is appropriate, that spending follows QuantumClean purchasing procedures, and that all required approvals (sign-offs) are obtained.   
  • Operations Adherence to Corporate Administrative Policies.  These policies include but are not limited to travel requests, credit card/receipt reporting requirements, expense accounts procedures, petty cash, proper and complete hiring documentation, first notice of injury, etc. 
 Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • High School diploma required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience including goal setting, coaching, and performance review preferred
  • Previous experience in semiconductor manufacturing, relevant trade school, and/or military experience preferred
  • OSHA related experience preferred 
  • Ability to learn, understand and perform all aspects of each production area. Including the operation of all equipment and 6S applications.
  • Ability to learn and comply with all aspects of OSHA requirements
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to make sound, objective judgments
  • Communicates well with peers, team and upper management
  • Good written and presentations skills
  • Computer skills are critical
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9001, and associated Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to multitask successfully in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent WIP and time management experience
  • Basic understanding and experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred
