Job Summary:
Quantum Global Technologies LLC, (QGT), is seeking an energetic and motivated team player to fill a Mechanical/ Fixture Engineer role to join and manage our facility and Capital Improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(other duties may be assigned)
Provides Mechanical Engineering Support
  • Develops and maintains travelers, inventory sheets, drawings, etc as necessary to support production workload.
  • Develops/maintains/evaluates production tooling (fixtures, baskets, etc.) required for efficient, effective part processing.
  • Manages Vendors to insure on-time delivery of fixturing and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment and fixturing PM schedules and tasking.
  • Sets up new and maintains existing CMM programs (including up-revs).
  • Support Gauge R&R program, and lead site in equipment profiling.
  • Monitors/maintains process controls (pressures, temperatures, concentration, contamination, etc.) through SPC.  Insures that process measurements fall within the control limits and the overall process CPKs comply with the divisional limits.
  • Maintains/monitors work environments to ensure they are adequate for the tasks being performed, preserve safe work practices, and meet housekeeping requirements.
  • Develops/assists in development of training materials, examinations, agendas, and schedules required for personnel training/certification of fixturing and equipment.
Provides Project Engineering Support for new facility build-outs.
  • Based upon input from Process Engineering, Development Engineering, and Operations, prepares layout for new and existing facilities.
  • Develops equipment specifications and performance standards necessary for equipment selection and purchase. 
  • Assists on-site during construction by providing technical support to project manager, general contractor and subcontractors as required.
  • Attends all pre-construction design meetings and during-construction meetings.  Responds to action items assigned within specified time frame. 
Executes low-level Capital Engineering projects
  • Develops capital equipment proposals depicting project costs and justification if required.
  • Submits project plan to management for review and approval.
  • Monitors actual project costs against approved capital.  Informs manager if project if projected to be outside of budget.
  • Prepares project schedule and monitors progress against baseline.
  • Reviews project scope to ensure that all Federal, State and local codes are adhered to.  Ensures that project meets all OSHA, safety, and environmental concerns.
  • Works with outside contractors when necessary to execute installation of process equipment or facility modification.
  • Closes out project by ensuring that all required work is completed and provides closeout report indicating deviations against scope, budget , and schedule.
Special Projects/Assignments
  • Completion of special projects or assignments as requested by management.
 Recommends cost reduction ideas
  • Through course of normal work activity, identifies areas for cost reduction and submits to manager for review.
Required Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. 
  • AutoCAD or equivalent
  • MS Office
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Masters degree in engineering
  • Lean Expert/Black Belt
  • Green Belt
  • PE License
  • PMP Certificate
